WORD CLOUDS from Today (left) and Dec ’11 (right). Meh

What say you, people of Google+? Should I change course?

How about more Jim Morrison in that cloud?

What does your word cloud look like? Find out here: http://timc.idv.tw/wordcloud/en/# (be sure to choose Posts rather than Profile).

H/T to Chad Haney. I think his was more amusing: http://goo.gl/1rqkE

Right, that would be limiting..too bad, bet there would be some awesome music in there Kimberly Brosnan !

  2. Jim Tipping says:

Yes, I noticed the same thing; there were words I expected to see and didn’t. But it’s public posts only…

  3. Rajini Rao says:

Would be nice if one had the option of removing the most common words (You, http, etc.).

  4. Jim Carver says:

When I ran this the last time, about 6 months ago I guess, it came up with the http in big letters like that one. Although I still think it’s better to post the actual link…I use the parser now. It didn’t come up with the big http this time, but showed something else that was a little hard to think about. The best way to get a feel for someone’s posts are still just to browse through them. i.e. no keyword madness, uses the brain.

  5. Rajini Rao says:

Seriously. Just add an option to remove the top ten words. They are bound to be ordinary structural words.

  6. Rajini Rao says:

Very true, Jim Carver . Although the Word Cloud does provide the amusement of mixing words in odd combinations πŸ™‚ Mine seems to have come through relatively unscathed.

  7. Scott Lewis says:

I see lots of links in your word cloud! But I also see that beautiful word “Science” which makes up for nearly anything!!

    Mine:

Haha, Mahesh Sreekandath , there were a couple more words…

  9. Rajini Rao says:

BYOB, ’cause I only offer you water in my word cloud πŸ™‚

  10. Rajini Rao says:

About time for another Jim Morrison post, right? Enough of this Science stuff. All work and no play makes me a dull girl.

  11. Chad Haney says:

Rajini Rao busy girls are happy girls.

  12. Deeksha Tare says:

Hehe! I tried! My word cloud is so tiny!! πŸ™‚

  13. Chad Haney says:

hmm, used Science water, so if

Science like a Wonder grows… ( partially quote.)

Thanks to Science on Google+: A Public Database maybe…( :

And Thank You for it surely.

  15. Hm, my word cloud prominently features the words “my” “they” “have” and “more.” I’m pretty sure I should be embarrassed about this!

  16. Rajini Rao says:

The program needs to be tweaked so we can remove structural words. Should be easy to do..we ought to give them feedback. Mine has some good words but they too are obscured by the giant link terms.

  17. Chad Haney says:

Http, you, etc are showing up on almost everyone’s word cloud. Would be nice to remove them.

  18. Rajini Rao says:

Feisal Kamil mentioned leaving a comment on the site. We should all do it so they are inspired to tweak their program a bit.

  19. Chad Haney says:

I left a comment here. Others have already suggested a better filter. The author mentioned that he already filters “me”, “the”, etc.

Intriguing, Paul Evans ..from your pen? (Or keyboard, to be more current).

  28. Rajini Rao says:

Paul Evans , your word cloud to rain cloud analogy was quite lovely, thanks for the share.
