Heat sensing TRPV1 ion channel detects infrared radiation and is used by blood sucking vampire bats (Humans use it to feel heat)..very cool work from David Julius, who is supposedly on the Nobel shortlist as co-discoverer of TRP channels.

  1. Hope some day we figure out how to splice this into our gene pool. I ‘hear’ the night sky is just grand in infra red.
