I’ve been melancholy all day and just could not bring myself to share this. Thank you, Suzanne Roberts! ♥

  1. I’ve not heard much of his music. This video is brilliant – this is a musical performance! Dramatic, sincere, they’re dressed like they want to impress the audience, the composition. Thanks for the share Suzanne Roberts!

  2. Rajini Rao says:

I respect him so much for taking on this project with a classically trained operatic star like Montserrat! The warmth between them is palpable, something that reaches out through the years.

  3. Rajini Rao have you heard the back and forth between them that Mike Moran recorded? it’s just beautiful…..

  4. Rajini Rao says:

No, do you have a link? I’ll google it.

  5. Just for your information, this was recorded in Montjuïc, Barcelona, in front of the “Font Màgica”, the “Magical Fountain”.

  6. Rajini Rao says:

Víktor Bautista i Roca , around the time of the Barcelona Olympics, right? Maybe just after.

  7. Rajini Rao Before. You can see the symbol on the background. I guess it was in 1990. In fact, he died in 1991, the year before the Barcelona Olympics.

Here it the link to Suzanne’s post on the practice session with Montserrat: https://plus.google.com/u/0/111246222621577046613/posts/93jkCd5Hd7L

    More tributes on her page!

  9. I was blessed to have heard him live. I admit I cried during the Barcelona Olympics, knowing what should have been.

  10. Rajini Rao says:

Oh, how sad! Barcelona was commissioned for the 1992 Olympics but he passed away 7 months before. The album was released in 1988. Wiki says there is a new version just released.

  11. The remastered ‘Barcelona’ is on my wish list.

I so wanted to see them perform this live for the Olympics.

  12. And this one seems to be a beautiful share…but I am on the mobile and will watch later Rajini Rao!

  13. Jim Carver says:

That wasn’t too bad. I took music appreciation in school.:)

Hey, Suzanne and I got the my camera working. You guys want to say hi! in a hangout? I promise not to keep you. Although I do talk quite a lot.

  14. Jim Carver says:

You know I didn’t realize it is as late as it is Feisal Kamil .

  15. Jim Carver says:

For sure, my first outing out wasn’t that great. I didn’t get the settings right. They could not hear me. Some might say that was the best thing! Haha!

  16. Jim Carver says:

I think it’s got it. I actually want to do something with this thing. Besides maybe play. It seems to be a nice tool, not sure about the wireless. Mine has teeth.

    Oh yeah, but I don’t.

  17. Jim Carver says:

Well you have a good one man. No good cheer goes overturned.

  18. Mary T says:

    Lovely share, thank you 😉

    He made her swoon.

  20. Rajini Rao says:

    Glad you enjoyed it!

  21. Beautifully done, I like the way she was smiling …… Heart throbs, i am guessing!

  22. Jim Carver says:

I circled Suzanne Roberts because of this post. I really like her. But actually I hate opera. I took music appreciation in college and I didn’t appreciate it at all. I have played Classical music and modern music and played the trombone and piano in the symphony.

Sorry, opera is still bleck. Shove a stick in that pipehole…doesn’t do a thing for me. 😉

  23. Rajini Rao thanks for sharing this.  in case you have not seen it, here is his statue in Lake Geneva: https://plus.google.com/u/0/113953592758896789108/posts/Wm2h5c1Zga1

  24. Rajini Rao says:

That’s a great share, thanks nomad dimitri . Something to look for the next time I visit the area.

  25. Kri San says:

Hi Rajini Rao the BBC (in the UK) recently ran a profile on Freddie Mercury with extensive interviews with Montserrat Caballe among others, not sure if you can get in the States but worth a dig – very detailed and well made/presented.

  26. Rajini Rao says:

Krishna Santhanam , I’ve not seen it, thanks for the heads-up. I may be able to find a link or video of it. I’m sure it was a great watch!
