Fascinating! Obviously it’s a depressurized artery, but the red blood cells don’t appear to be consolidated in a clot, how was that accomplished?
Maybe they used an anticoagulant while preparing the sample?

If it’s an artery, why can’t we see the three layers? (Tunicae intima, media, et adventitia?)
It’s an arteriole, I believe. We would have to dig through Google image search results and find the original description 😛
Exactly Rajini Rao, just a step up from a capillary, as clearly denoted by the relative sizes of the vessel and the blood cells.
