Sugar sprinkles have artificial food coloring for sure 🙂
What’s interesting to me is that the color is so consistent. I guess the pigments in the food coloring are quite a bit smaller, huh?

The coloring and shading is applied based on variations in depth of staining of the sample, I believe.

Candy is often coated with glycerin or something similar to make it shiny. The finger ridges were pretty unappealing, don’t you think?
