Feisal Kamil , re your comment on the Iberis flower, a Google search with “iberis flower symmetry” revealed that this is a hot bed of research! Apparently, “flowers with a bilateral (also called irregular or monosymmetric) symmetry evolved several times independently from those with a radial (regular or polysymmetric) symmetry…. Species of the genus Iberis such as Iberis amara form a second whorl with a bilateral symmetry. This allows conducting comparative molecular studies to reveal if the same key regulatory genes and molecular networks have been independently recruited to establish monosymmetry in different plant families. Furthemore, It will be intriguing to determine the effect of the combined morphological changes in Iberis on pollinator attraction.” Apparently, this flower arrangement has been attributed to the vast success of angiosperms. I’ll have to check this out 🙂
Prabat parmal , I agree..not everyone can have a garden, especially in crowded metropolitans of the world. On the other hand, you probably talk to your neighbors a lot more that I do (I barely see them most days!).

Is there any dull season!?
R Prakash Prakash , the garden is asleep most of the winter. Although we still have the evergreens, bushes with red berries (Nandina, or bamboo) and some of the trees have nice profiles or bark to admire. Of course, a dusting of snow transforms everything into a white wonderland. All in all, gardens look best in spring and autumn (the summer heat stresses the flowers and only the riff-raff survive! ).
Nandina has red berries (common name Heavenly Bamboo). Actual bamboo is a grass.
