Cat Stevens – Morning has broken 1976

“Sweet the rain’s new fall,

Sunlit from heaven

Like the first dew fall,

On the first grass.”

Pretty photos!! (and I love the song, too!)

  2. Rajini Rao could I ask a huge favor? When you get time could you please review en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Clothianidin and let me know what you think is going on there?

  3. Love the view given by the stand of trees.

Sure, James Salsman , although not my area of expertise, I’ll take a look.

Feisal Kamil , re your comment on the Iberis flower, a Google search with “iberis flower symmetry” revealed that this is a hot bed of research! Apparently, “flowers with a bilateral (also called irregular or monosymmetric) symmetry evolved several times independently from those with a radial (regular or polysymmetric) symmetry…. Species of the genus Iberis such as Iberis amara form a second whorl with a bilateral symmetry. This allows conducting comparative molecular studies to reveal if the same key regulatory genes and molecular networks have been independently recruited to establish monosymmetry in different plant families. Furthemore, It will be intriguing to determine the effect of the combined morphological changes in Iberis on pollinator attraction.” Apparently, this flower arrangement has been attributed to the vast success of angiosperms. I’ll have to check this out πŸ™‚

Prabat parmal , I agree..not everyone can have a garden, especially in crowded metropolitans of the world. On the other hand, you probably talk to your neighbors a lot more that I do (I barely see them most days!).

  8. Is there any dull season!?

  9. Unknown's avatar Rajini Rao says:

R Prakash Prakash , the garden is asleep most of the winter. Although we still have the evergreens, bushes with red berries (Nandina, or bamboo) and some of the trees have nice profiles or bark to admire. Of course, a dusting of snow transforms everything into a white wonderland. All in all, gardens look best in spring and autumn (the summer heat stresses the flowers and only the riff-raff survive! ).

  10. Nandina has red berries (common name Heavenly Bamboo). Actual bamboo is a grass.

I love that Ralph Waldo Emerson quote, thank you for your thoughts, Thuan Pham-Budin ! There is one on trees that I love, and I think you will appreciate also…’I think that I shall never see. A poem lovely as a tree’ (Joyce Kilmer).

  14. Beautiful garden, like heaven.

Thank you, Jose M. G. Guerreiro πŸ™‚ The garden is just waking from a long, cold sleep. It needs some cleaning to get ready for the warmer weather.
