Rhino Airlift Apparently the most humane way to transport darted black rhinos, 19 of these highly endangered animals were moved 1,500 km across South Africa to a secret location.

As of September, 309 black rhinos have been poached since the beginning of the year, all for their horns which are believed to have mythical powers of curing cancer. The last Javan rhino in Vietnam has reportedly been killed for its horn.
