Hi Rajini, i am also interested to know . what type of thought process you need to adopt when u r a scientist.

  4. Unknown's avatar Rajini Rao says:

amit saini Objectivity (it’s never about the ego), logic (to put the pieces together), creativity (to think anew), rational thinking (to discard your favorite hypothesis), passion (for what you do), optimism (in the face of frequent failure).

  5. Hey what about scepticism?

  6. Unknown's avatar Rajini Rao says:

Scepticism is a good one! Trust but verify. Especially data that look too good to be true. Years ago when I was just starting out, one of my data points was way off the best fit line. I asked a postdoc, should I just delete it? He said No, that’s what makes your experiment real.

    wow, thats good.

You are working in which domain?

  8. Unknown's avatar Rajini Rao says:

amit saini , my general area is biomedical research which is a catchall phrase for many fields of biology (genetics, physiology, cell bio, neurosci, etc.). My specific interest is in ions (Ca2+, H+, Na+, K+) and the proteins that move them across cell membranes (ion channels and pumps). They set electrical and chemical gradients across cell boundaries which are then used for everything from neuronal signaling, muscle contraction, harnessing energy, etc. Thanks for your interest 🙂
